Laboratory Regulations
The department's laboratory regulations are aimed at reducing the
likelihood of accidents occurring and to ensure that all safety
procedures with regard to the handling and use of laboratory
apparatus and chemicals are followed.
For reasons of
personal safety, and the safety of others, these regulations must be
strictly followed. All students engaged in laboratory work must read
and understand these regulations before proceeding with experimental
work. A copy is provided in the course-specific laboratory guide.
At the beginning of each term, students are required to sign
a
written statement, indicating that they have both read and
understand the regulations.
If you have any questions at
all, consult your laboratory supervisor before proceeding with any
experimental work.

Where Can I Find The Laboratory Regulations?
First year chemistry students can find the regulations in section 2.4 of the laboratory guide.
Chemistry 200/201 students can find the regulations in Section A-1 of their laboratory manual.
Other students will find the regulations in their current laboratory manual.
