Chem 110 Lab: Accidental Chemical Discoveries
A number of useful chemical
discoveries have been made by serendipity, which is a fancy way
of saying "by pure accident". In each case, something
unintended occurred and the chemist was curious enough to
figure out what had happened. There are numerous
examples in all branches of science of serendipitous
discoveries, but here we focus on ones of a chemical
nature.
