Chem 110 Online Exp: Molecular Models
Comments on the Purpose of this
Experiment
This experiment is intended to help students prepare for the final exam. Marks are still associated with completion of this experiment, but the true purpose is to help you practice your understanding of organic chemistry. If you choose to simply copy another student's answers rather than working on the questions yourself, you are only robbing yourself of this chance to practice.
The 6-page lab report sheet is to be used with the lab manual. See below for the report sheet.
You will find that the six pages of the report sheet match the chronological order in which your course lecturer teaches the various topics of organic chemistry.
The website listed below is used for creating 3D models. This is useful in the event that you are unable to attend the physical lab room to use the molecular modeling kits. Occasionaly the site becomes overloaded; if so, try again 5 - 10 minutes later.
www.molview.org
The website will open to this screen. The search window is at the upper-left.

To display a model, copy/paste the name of the compound directly from the online lab report sheet into the modelling website, as shown below. Or, just type it in.
